Our Team

Our Team of experienced Attorneys, led by the Managing Partner who has immense experience having worked in a reputable Law Firm, taught at the Nigerian Law School and worked in Merchant and Commercial Bank as Group General Counsel/Company Secretary for a period spanning thirty years, are well versed in the legal, financial, business and other area of enterprise as well as the intricacies of a variety of transactions. They are commercially minded individuals with the aim of establishing a successful team approach with their clients, businesses and other Advisers. Our Attorneys have robust experience and are creative in finding commercial solutions to identified issues at reasonable cost.

 

Managing Partner

Olajumoke is the Founder and Managing Partner of First Almond Attorneys a Law Firm established in January 2014 with a wealth of experience spanning over three decades.

Olajumoke served as the Group Company Secretary & Group General Counsel of First City Monument Bank Limited and Associated Companies for over 21 years. She disengaged from the services of the Bank in December 2013.

She has varied experience in Project and Structured Finance, Financial & Advisory, Litigation, Corporate and Commercial Law practice and has worked on various assignments spanning Capital Markets Practice, Corporate Restructuring, Mergers and Acquisitions, Foreign Investment Regulatory Procedures, Due Diligence Procedures prior to mergers and acquisitions, Company Secretarial, Compliance, Corporate Governance and Stock Exchange Listing.

Olajumoke worked with the Nigerian Law School as a Lecturer between 1989 and 1992 before joining the Legal department of First City Merchant Bank in 1992 (now First City Monument Bank Ltd. - FCMB).

She began her Legal career with the Law Firm of Messrs A. Adedeji & Co. in 1985 after her mandatory NYSC programme with the Nigerian Air Force Base, Ikeja, Lagos.

Olajumoke obtained her Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Lagos in 1991. Prior to this, she had been admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1984, emerging in the top 1% of her graduating set at the Nigerian Law School. Before that, she attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where she graduated in the top 1% of her class, obtaining her LL.B in 1983. In all these, she graduated with Second Class Upper Division, winning prizes and distinctions including the overall Best Female Performance Award, Best Student Award in the Law of Business Associations and Law of Evidence.

A member of the International Bar Association and the Nigerian Bar Association where she once served as a Treasurer/Council member of the Section on Business Law. She is a much sought after Speaker and has presented several papers in her areas of expertise. She is an expert in Mentoring and Counselling and has participated in diverse topics/seminars that range from Law to Leadership.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an Alumni of the Lagos Business School, Nigeria. Olajumoke is the President of the Elders Group in her Local Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus Embassy, VGC, Lagos. She has been happily married to her devoted, loving and supportive husband for over 30 years and she is blessed with children.

Our Approach

As part of our process of managing our Clients and their transactions efficiently, our Managing Partner supported by other skilled Attorneys, will identify with the Clients from the beginning and those factors which our Clients consider to be primarily important for an expedited and successful conclusion of their brief. Our approach is to establish a core Team of Attorneys in each unit who will be responsible for each transaction, to ensure efficiency and the delivery of personalised service.
